Field Hockey Gets Shut Out in Close Match-Up

Paxton, MA – The Soaring Eagles showed much heart in today's game against the Anna Maria Amcats. The Purple and Gold started off strong with their defense not allowing any goals in the first half. Lauren Thomas '14 (Marshfield, MA -- Marshfield) once again showed us her talents in goal saving 5 of the 11 shots in the first half.  Although the team showed their inexperience by giving up two goals in the second half.

Leading the team in shots were second year players Sarah Harden-Marshall '14 (Marathon, NY -- Marathon) and McKenna Light '14 (Marathon, NY -- Marathon). Harden-Marshall led the team with 4 shots on goal followed closely by Light with 3. Also contributing to the offense were Co-captain Ashley Leja '12 (Auburn, NY -- Dana L. West) and first year player Juliet Mejia '15 (Springfield, MA -- Cathedral) getting 1 shot on goal.

The Soaring Eagles now move to 0-3 on the season as they look to achieve greatness against the University of Rochester team Wednesday, September 14 at 4:00 p.m.
