Women’s Soccer Downs King’s College 5-1

Elmira, NY – The Elmira College Women's Soccer looked sharp as it cruised past King's College 5-1 Saturday afternoon in Elmira. The Soaring Eagles (4-3 Overall, 1-0 Empire 8) controlled possession as they outshot the Monarchs (1-5) 31-9 in the game and had five different players register in the scoring column.

The Purple and Gold got the scoring started early, notching two goals within a one minute span 10 minutes into the contest. Mikayla Bean '14 (Williamson, NY – Williamson) took a corner from the left side and found Kelsey Kiel '13 (Bryan Athyn, PA – Academy of the New Church) who redirected the ball with her head off Monarch keeper Lauren Duguid's hand into the right side of the net. The Soaring Eagles struck again 51 seconds later on a counterattack. Kiel played a perfect ball up the left sideline to Mollie Hamilton '15 (Victor, NY – Victor) who took the ball at her defender leaving a wide open Caitlyn Criscuolo '14 (Cheshire, CT – Cheshire) streaking down the center of the field. Hamilton fed Criscuolo who put it home into the empty side of the right net.
