Field Hockey Downs Cedar Crest 6-2

Allentown, PA – The Elmira College Field Hockey team downed host Cedar Crest on the road 6-2 Monday afternoon. The win improves the Soaring Eagles to 4-7 overall, while the loss drops the Falcons to 6-9.
 
The Purple and Gold are having their best season in recent history as their four wins so far this season match its win total from the last four seasons combined. McKenna Light '14 and Sarah Watts '15 tallied two goals apiece, while Light also added two assists. Meanwhile, Allie Maffei '13 and Alli Gilbert '16 each chipped in a score as well.
 
Sarah Harden-Marshall '14 and Becca Kraynak '16 each dished out assists in the contest. Light led EC with six points on the day including the game-winning goal . Lauren Thomas '14 was impressive in net making 12 saves in the win, while Cedar Crest's Lindsay Harrison stopped four shots in the loss. 
 
The Elmira College Field Hockey team returns to action Saturday when it hosts Ithaca at the Murray Athletic Center starting at 1:00 p.m.
