Women’s Soccer Falls in Second Half to Blue Knights

Box Score Geneseo, NY – The Elmira College Women's Soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss on the road Tuesday afternoon to the SUNY Geneseo Blue Knights. The win improves the Blue Knights to 3-10-3 overall, while the Soaring Eagles fall to 4-11-1 overall.

Geneseo took control of the game early and did not let EC get many chances on the offensive side. However, the Blue Knights would not be able to score until the 62:39 minute mark when Kelly Quinn collected a loose ball 20 yards out and shot it past Megan Lowe '13 for the goal. Although the Blue Knights outshot the Soaring Eagles, 23-2, Lowe played another phenomenal game allowing only one goal and recording 12 saves. Allison Stamp played in goal for Geneseo and made two saves in the game.

The Purple and Gold will return to action Saturday, October 27th when they host Stevens Institute of Technology in Empire 8 conference action on the Class of 2013 recognition day. The game is set to start at Noon.
