Elmira, NY -- ECAC Commissioner Rudy Keeling has announced the seedings for the 2012 ECAC Women's West Ice Hockey Championship Tournament. The Elmira College Women's Ice Hockey team has clinched the three seed, earning a first round home contest on Saturday.
The Soaring Eagles finish the season 20-4-1 overall and 15-3-0 in ECAC West play. Elmira is led by two 30 point scorers in
Lindsay Mitchell '12 (Arnold, MD -- North American Hockey Academy) and
Tori Charron '14 (Goodwood, ONT -- Aurora Panthers).
Mitchell finished the season with 32 points on 11 goals and 21 assists, while
Charron recorded 30 points in the form of 18 points and 12 assists.
EC will host No. 6 Potsdam at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th. The Bears finished the regular season 11-9-3 overall and 7-8-3 in conference competition. Elmira swept the season series against Potsdam, as the Soaring Eagles defeated the Bears by identical scores of 5-1 on December 3rd and 4th.
Tickets for the ECAC West First Round game will go on sale on Saturday at 1:00 p.m at the Murray Athletic Center.
