The Purple and Gold continued to dictate the tempo and control the puck in the second stanza and broke the game open midway through the period when Ryan fed Mitchell who lit the lamp, extending Elmira's lead to 3-0 after two. Just over one minute into the third period the Soaring Eagles scored again as Lamoureux tallied her second marker of the game.
