Elmira, NY – The Elmira College Athletics department is working in conjunction with USA Hockey and will be celebrating Hockey Weekend Across America at its home Women's Hockey contest against Middlebury on February 16th. The puck is set to drop at 3:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletic Center.

All area youth hockey players are encouraged to wear their team jerseys to the February 16^th contest to assist the Soaring Eagles in celebrating the sport of hockey. A public skate will be held immediately following the Women's Hockey contest, which is expected to be from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

"Hockey Weekend Across America has become a signature event on the hockey calendar," said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. "This weekend is about celebrating our great game and those involved at all levels and also about exposing our game to new audiences as we continue to expand the reach of our sport."

Hockey Weekend Across America was created by USA Hockey in 2008 to engage the hockey community in celebrating the sport of hockey at all levels and exposing the sport to new audiences.
