Pine Valley, NY --
The Elmira College field hockey team (1-4, 0-2 E8) picked up a 3-2 win over Keystone College today. Ashley Palmer '16 picked up two goals while Lauren Thomas '14 stopped 12 shots in today's victory.

The Soaring Eagles came into the game ready to play as Palmer put the ball into the back of the net just two minutes into the game. The Giants didn't take long to retaliate as a couple minutes later Christina Nevers '14 shot the ball towards the net and Jessica Fusco '14 was able to redirect the ball past Thomas.

The game would remain tied going into half-time, but once again the Purple and Gold came out with energy as Palmer would score her second goal of the game just under two minutes into the second half when she flicked the ball over the goalies pads. With just under five minutes left in the game Caitlin Sickau '16 put a shot towards the net with Alli Gilbert '16 posting up close to the goal to tip the ball past the net-minder to give the EC women a two-goal lead. Keystone wouldn't go down easy as Katie Darling '14 was able to rifle the ball past Thomas off a pass from Kelsey Drozda '14 with under a minute remaining. Elmira was able to hold off Keystone in the final minute to pick up the win.

The Soaring Eagles will only have a few days rest as they will prepare to host St. John Fisher College this Saturday at 1:00 pm.
