Houghton, NY-- The Elmira College women's soccer team (3-4-1) fell to Houghton College (6-1) 4-1 on the road today.
Maddie Miller '17 picked up her first career goal while
Amanda Banner '17 stopped six shots in today's action.
Banner was tested early in today's contest as the stopped three shots in the first seven minutes of play. With the help of Banner the score was tied at 0-0 going into halftime. Coming out for the second half the Highlanders pressured the net once again and managed to get one through as Amanda Zacchinga '14 was able to find the back of the net off a pass from Erin Miller '14 less than three minutes into the half. nd and the 65
th minute Sarah Gabriele '16 posted two goals off two penalty kicks. The Highlanders scored one more goal in the second half to increase Houghton's lead to 4-0. The Soaring Eagles regrouped in the 76
th minute as
Meagan Fullen '17 gave the ball to Miller to notch her first goal of her collegiate career.
The Purple and Gold will only have a few days rest before they travel to Fredonia State University on October 1
st.
