Elmira, NY -- Coming off their third double-overtime tie of the season, the Elmira College women's soccer team will look to keep their Empire 8 playoff hopes alive when they travel to take on St. John Fisher College on Tuesday, October 21st for a 7:00 p.m. game.
Last Time OutThe Soaring Eagles played to a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Houghton College on Saturday, moving EC to 1-2-2 in Empire 8 Conference games.
Melanie English'15 scored her first goal since the 2011 season to put Elmira up 1-0 in the 23rd minute, but Houghton would tie the game shortly after the start of the second half. The Purple and Gold had a few good chances late to retake the lead, but none found the back of the net, leading to overtime. Neither team were able to score in the 20 minutes of overtime, resulting in the 1-1 tie.

The Soaring Eagles, with five conference points, can still secure the fourth and final playoff spot with wins in their final three games against St. John Fisher, Alfred University, and Utica College.
