Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's soccer team, after a week absence, returns to the field for an Empire 8 Conference game against Nazareth College on Saturday, October 4th. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.

Oh Captain, My Captain
Second-year captain Mackenzie Donohue '15 has been a stabilizing force in the center of EC's midfield for the last few seasons, but it is her offensive production that has elevated Elmira's level of play in 2014. She already has career-highs in points and goals, with five and two, respectively, while adding one assist.

Series History
EC and Nazareth have met each year dating back to the 2000 season with the Golden Flyers winning 13 of the previous 14 matchups. Elmira's lone win in the series came in 2006, with Nazareth riding a seven-game winning streak heading into Saturday.

Best Start Since 2007
At 7-2-1, Nazareth is off to their best 10-game start since the 2007 season. In 2007, the Golden Flyers began with eight wins in their first 10 games, four of which came in Empire 8 Conference play. Nazareth went on to post a 14-6-2 overall record that year and won the 2007 ECAC Upstate Tournament.

Looking Ahead
Elmira begins a two-game, non-conference road-trip on Wednesday, October 8th when they travel to take on the Knights of SUNY Geneseo at 4:00 p.m.
