Sami Hanes '16 of the Elmira College women's volleyball team recorded her 2,000th career assist as the Soaring Eagles dropped a pair of matches at the New York State Regional Challenge. Hanes' 55 assists today increases her career total to 2,014, making her just the seventh player in Elmira College history to record 2,000 or more career assists.

Elmira College 1, Kean University -- 25-14, 23-25, 25-16, 26-24In a rematch of last year's ECAC Metro-Upstate Tournament final, Elmira came out on the wrong end of a 3-1 decision. Elmira split the opening sets but fell in the final two despite holding a hefty lead in the fourth set.
Kierstin Derr '16 led EC with 11 kills while Hanes finished with 32 assists.

Elmira College 0, University of Rochester 3 -- 25-19, 25-21, 25-20Elmira fell in their regular season finale to the University of Rochester in three sets. The Soaring Eagles did not have any players with double-digit kills but still managed to produce 29 kills, including
Amanda Blinkinsop '16 who led EC with eight. Hanes finished with 23 assists, her ninth assist being career 2,000th, an assist that came on a kill by
Kelsey Ross '16 at 5-4 in the second set.
