Live Coverage Coverage
Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's ice hockey team will be looking to stay atop the ECAC West standings as they host Neumann University for a pair of conference games this weekend.  The first of two games is scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, NY.

Playing for Home Ice
Elmira College sits in a first place tie in the ECAC West standings with Plattsburgh State.  Both teams have identical conference records of 13-1-0 heading into the weekend.  If Elmira and Plattsburgh are able to win both of their remaining games in regulation, a coin toss will determine who will host the 2013-14 ECAC West Conference Tournament. If Elmira is selected to host the conference tournament, it will be the first time EC will host the semifinals and championship games since the 2008-09 season.

Penalty Kill Unit Getting it Done
Opposing teams have found it difficult to score on Elmira's penalty kill unit over the last 10 games. In those 10 games, opposing teams are 0-for-33 on power play chances.  The last time EC has gone as many games without surrendering a power play goal was during the 2003-04 season when Elmira did not allow a power play goal in 10 straight games from October 31, 2003 to December 6, 2003.  The 2013-14 team's streak is perhaps more impressive as the 2003-04 penalty kill unit went 0-for-29 during the 10 game stretch.

EC Record Books
Both Tanis Lamoureux '14 and Ashley Ryan '15 have etched their names in the EC record books this season. Lamoureux is seventh in career points (100), ninth in career assists (57), and 11th in career goals (43).  Ryan is 10th in career points (92) and tied for 10th in single-season assists (25) with all-time great Laura Hurd '05.

Up to No. 2 in the Nation
With a pair of wins over Cortland State, coupled with a 1-1-1 week for Middlebury College, the Soaring Eagles are now ranked second in the nation in the USCHO Poll.  EC shares the No. 2 spot with the Panthers of Middlebury.  Elmira's No. 2 national ranking is the highest they have been ranked since the preseason poll back on October 28th when the Purple and Gold checked-in at No. 1 in the nation as they received 8-of-15 first place votes.

20-Win Season on the Horizon
Elmira College enters this weekend's games with 18 wins, just two shy of reaching the 20-win plateau.  If the Soaring Eagles are able to get two more wins this season, it will mark the third straight year with 20-or more victories and the eighth time in EC history.

100-Point Scorer
Tanis Lamoureux '14 netted the game-winning goals in both of Elmira's wins over Cortland State.  Her second game-winner upped her career total points to 100, making her just the eighth player in Elmira's storied history to reach the 100-point plateau.

Rookie Sensations
In Elmira's 6-0 win against Cortland State, EC's sixth goal was scored and assisted by three rookie skaters in Sydney Fischer '17, Johanna Eidensten '17, and Jessica Prance '17.  It is the first time since the 2006-07 season that a goal and both assists were credited to rookie skaters.  The last time it happened was when Lauryn DePaul '10 scored the second goal of the game against Plattsburgh State on November 19, 2006 with Melanie Henshaw '10 and Anastasia Steele-Norton '10 picking up assists.
