Live Coverage Coverage
Elmira, NY -- The Murray Athletic Center will play host to two of the most anticipated regular season games of the season this weekend as the No. 3 Elmira College women's ice hockey team will take on the No. 1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals for two crucial ECAC West Conference games. The first of the two will take place on Friday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. when EC hosts their annual Pink the Rink game with the series concluding the following day at 3:00 p.m.

Pink the Rink
Tonight's contest is EC's annual Pink the Rink game. The players will wear special pink uniforms which will be available for purchase following the game. There will also be silent auctions for gift baskets and pink ribbons available for sale. All money raised will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help raise breast cancer awareness.

Battle of the Unbeatens
This weekend's two-game series between EC and Plattsburgh State will feature the only two undefeated teams remaining in the ECAC West Conference. With both teams tied at the top of the conference with 20 points and 10-0-0 records, the number one seed in the conference tournament is on the line.

National Powers
Elmira College and Plattsburgh State have been perennial powers in Division III women's ice hockey for the last 13 years. The teams have combined to win five national championships, three for the Soaring Eagles and two for the Cardinals, and have made the NCAA finals a combined eight times.

Tough Test for EC
It is never easy facing the No. 1 team in the country, but ECAC West rival Plattsburgh State, poses another type of challenge for the Soaring Eagles. Plattsburgh holds the number one scoring offense, averaging 5.44 goals per game, but also has the best scoring defense in the nation. The Cardinals have allowed just four goals all season which averages out to 0.22 goals per game.

Hit 'Em With the Atti-Tude
Rookie Anna Tude '17 went the first 17 games of her Soaring Eagle career without finding the back of the net. But that all changed on Saturday against Buffalo State when the Stockholm, Sweden native punched home her first career goal with 11:04 remaining in the third period. The power play goal pushed EC's lead to 3-1 and came after the Bengals had made it a one goal game two minutes prior.

Getting it Done From the Blue Line
The Purple and Gold defenders have increased their offensive production over the last four games as the six primary defensemen have combined for five goals and 13 assists. Katie Gaskin '14 leads the pack with six points on six assists while Ella Stewart '14, Phoebe Piku '16, and Brooke Wilgosh '15 each have three points. Stewart and Piku each have two goals and an assist while Wilgosh has one goal and two assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime against Oswego State on January 25th. Lindsay Burrows '15 has recorded two assists and McKenna Farole '16 rounds out the group with one assist.
