Field Hockey Drops Road Game Against DeSales

Central Valley, PA -- The Elmira College field hockey team (0-3) fell to DeSales University (2-1) 5-0 today. Alli Gilbert '16 led the Soaring Eagles with three shots in today's action.
 
DeSales found the back of the cage just 4:04 into the game. The Bulldogs would score two more goals in the first half of play.
 
Just 1:18 into the second half DeSales scored two more goals in the span of 40 seconds to increase the Bulldogs' lead to 5-0. The Purple and Gold's defense held the remainder of the play as DeSales would not score another goal in the game.
 
Julie Hockenberger '18 made her first career start in net today and recorded a career high 18 saves.
 
The EC women will compete next this Tuesday, September 9th when the Purple and Gold take on Susquehanna University in the Soaring Eagles' home opener.
