Women's Ice Hockey Game Notes - Jan. 24 - 25

ELMIRA STATSCHATHAM STATSLIVE COVERAGE

Elmira, NY -- The No. 2 nationally ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team welcomes Chatham University to the Murray Athletic Center Ice Arena this weekend for a two-game ECAC West Conference series.  The first of two games is scheduled for tomorrow, January 24th at 3:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
Elmira enters this weekend of ECAC West Conference matchups with a 13-1-1 overall record after picking up a crucial 4-2 non-conference victory on the road against Williams College.  Second-year talent Anna Tude '17 broke a 2-2 tie by scoring her third goal of the season with less than eight minutes remaining in the third period, a goal that would hold up as the game-winner.

Delainey Dazzles
In Elmira's win over Williams, Cassidy Delainey '15 scored her eighth power-play goal of the season, putting her in a two-way tie for the national lead.  Tied with Delainey is St. Scholastica's Nina Waidacher, who has scored eight power-play goals in 16 games compared to the 14 Delainey has played this season.

Welcome to the Club Hogie
Ashton Hogan '15 scored a pair of goals in Elmira's last game against Williams, increasing her career point total to 101 and making Hogan the newest member of EC's 100-Point Club.  Hogan becomes the second Elmira player to accomplish this feat in 2014-15 as teammate Ashley Ryan '15 notched her 100th career point earlier this season in a 10-2 win over SUNY Cortland

Ryan Inches Closer
With 133 career points, Ashley Ryan '15 owns the seventh spot in EC history for career points and is just two away from moving into a tie for sixth place.  Also, her 36 points this season are just eight shy of moving into a three-way tie for ninth place for single-season points in EC history.  With eight more points, she will become the first player to crack the top-10 since the 2008-09 season.

Scouting Chatham
Chatham University is compiling the best season in program history this year. With seven victories, the Cougars have eclipsed their previous-best win total of five set twice in 2008-09 and 2009-10.  Chatham is also on pace to have the best scoring season in program history as the Cougars need just eight goals over the final 10 games to exceed the 44 goals scored by the 2009-10 Chatham team. The Cougars have two players, Erika Martin '17 and Erika Bronk '16, with double-digit points on the season. Martin has tallied 11 points on a team-high eight goals and three assists, while Bronk has 10 points on two goals and a team-high eight assists.
