Elmira, NY --
After earning pair of wins against nationally ranked foes at the Panther-Cardinal Classic, the Elmira College women's ice hockey team resumes its conference schedule with a weekend series with SUNY Potsdam. Elmira opens the two-game set on Saturday, December 5th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Maxcy Ice Arena in Potsdam, NY.

Last Time Out
Elmira is coming off another impressive weekend, one that saw the Soaring Eagles defend their No. 2 national ranking with perfection. EC picked up back-to-back wins against nationally ranked teams at the Panther-Cardinal Classic, beginning with a 3-1 comeback win over third-ranked Middlebury College before earning a 2-1 come-from-behind victory against ninth-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College. Maddy Jerolman '19 played the hero in Elmira's win over the Panthers, as she scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period. The following day, Olivia Nystrom '16 provided the game-winner for the Soaring Eagles, as she capped Elmira's comeback win over the Golden Gusties.

Seven Games, Seven Wins
The Soaring Eagles enter the weekend having won their last seven games, the fourth-longest active win streak in the country. Three of Elmira's wins have come against nationally ranked opponents, including a pair of Top-5 wins against Norwich and Middlebury. During Elmira's seven-game stretch, the Purple and Gold have outscored their opponents 27-to-7 and have skated away victorious in two one-goal games (Utica, 2-1; Gustavus, 2-1).

Comeback Kids
Elmira has made a habit of earning comeback wins as of late. The Soaring Eagles have rallied from one-goal down in their last three contests to earn a trio of crucial early-season wins. EC began its run of comeback wins by scoring two unanswered goals in the third period to defeat Utica College on the road. The Purple and Gold are 3-1-0 this season when heading into the third period tied or trailing.

Special Teams Reign Supreme
One key strength for Elmira through the season's first eight games has been EC's special teams. Elmira boasts the nation's ninth-highest power-play percentage (29.0) and the country's seventh-best penalty kill percentage (93.0). Combined, Elmira leads the country in special team efficiency with a success rate of 66.2 percent.

Scouting Potsdam
The Bears have hit a rough patch in their schedule, as SUNY Potsdam has dropped three straight and is 1-3-1 in its last five games, dropping its overall record to 3-5-2. Two of Potsdam's last three losses have come in the form of shutouts, both coming at the hands of Oswego State. However, the Bears did show life in their most recent contest at No. 1 Plattsburgh State. SUNY Potsdam skated to a 1-1 tie with the Cardinals through two periods of play, but Plattsburgh went on to score three unanswered in the third to hand Potsdam its fifth loss of the season. Jordan Ott leads the Bears on offense this season with seven points on six goals and one assist. Allison Greene and Anna-Rose Bertin share the team-lead in assists with four apiece. Abby Tardelli has played in every minute in net for Potsdam this year, posting a 2.67 goals against average, 266 saves, and a .908 save percentage.
