Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team will hit the road this weekend to compete in a pair of ECAC West Conference games against Utica College. The Purple and Gold will compete at 7:00 p.m. tonight and tomorrow.

Last Time Out
The Soaring Eagles are coming off a 6-5 win over visiting Neumann University, as the Elmira men improved to 10-9-3 on the season. Alexander Taulien '17 set the tone on offense for Elmira, logging four points on two goals and two assists. With the win, Elmira avoided a season series sweep by the Knights.

ten Vaanholt Shines
Jarryd ten Vaanholt '16 has been a solid contributor throughout his time with Elmira, but has really come on strong during his junior year, totaling a career-high 33 points on 11 goals and a career-best 22 assists. With at least three games remaining, it is possible for ten Vaanholt to reach the 40-point mark, which would be the first time an EC player has registered 40 points since the 2009-10 season when Darcy Vaillancourt '12 finished with 40.

Tall Task for Taulien
Alexander Taulien '17 has scored seven power-play goals this season, which is tied for second-most in the country. Maybe more significant is the fact that EC is 6-1-0 this season when Taulien knocks-in a power-play goal.

Back to the Aud
Friday night's game against the Pioneers will be Elmira's first trip back to the Utica Memorial Auditorium since last year's ECAC West Conference Tournament Championship game. Elmira has seen a fair amount of success over the years at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, posting a 9-6-4 record against the Pioneers on their home ice.
