Hoboken, NJ -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team concluded their two-game weekend road trip with a 16-4 loss to Stevens Tech.
Ashton Hogan'15 had a hand in three of the four goals scored, netting two goals of her own and assisting on another for three points. Additionally,
Lindsay Wargo '17 stopped 14 shots for Elmira, setting a new career-high. The Ducks held a 3-0 advantage until
Marisa Carr'18 found the back of the net on an unassisted goal with 17:19 to play in the opening half. EC, however, was unable to capitalize on Carr's goal as Stevens scored five unanswered goals to take an 8-1 lead. A trio of Elmira goals in just a 1:36 span, two from Hogan and the other from
Moorea Spoljaric'16, made it an 8-4 game, but the Ducks concluded the first half's scoring with their ninth goal with 1:48 until halftime.
The second half was controlled by Stevens as the Ducks outscored the Soaring Eagles, 7-0, and limited EC to just two shots.
The Purple and Gold will look to get into the win column against Nazareth College on Friday, April 3rd. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. at the Corning Community College Field.
