Montclair, NJ -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team (2-14) fell 18-7 to Montclair State University today. Ashton Hogan '15 led the EC women with three goals and three assists while Lindsay Wargo '17 made 10 saves in the game.

The Red Hawks scored the game's first two goals over the first 7:55 of play to take a 2-0 lead. Hogan responded by netting her first goal just 57 seconds later to trail Montclair, 2-1. The Red Hawks then scored five straight goals before Moorea Spoljaric '16 scored after receiving a pass from Hogan to trail 7-2 5:14 into the first half. 
 
Montclair responded with another goal before Hogan and Spoljaric netted back-to-back goals to trail 8-4 with 9:49 left in the first half. The Red Hawks tallied three more goals before the end of the first half to take an 11-4 lead heading into half time.
 
The Red Hawks scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 14-4 lead. Elmira then responded with three goals to cut Montclair's lead to 13-7. Marisa Carr '18 scored the first goal off a free position shot, Hogan scored the second, and Kyra McDonald '18 scored the third with Hogan getting credit for the assist.
 
Montclair closed the door of any comeback hopes from Elmira as the Red Hawks scored the game's final five goals to win, 18-7.
 
The Purple and Gold will compete next on April 25th in the EC women's final game of the regular season at home against St. John Fisher in an Empire 8 Conference contest.
