Alfred, NY -- The Elmira College men's lacrosse team (2-6, 1-3, E8) fell 22-3 against Empire 8 Conference foe Alfred University (9-1, 3-1 E8) today. PJ Tessier '17 led the Soaring Eagles with two goals in today's action.
 
The Saxons scored the first goal of the game 1:43 into the first quarter, and then scored seven more times in the first to claim an 8-0 lead at the end of the quarter. The Saxons found the back of the net six more times in the second before Tessier received the ball from Eric Hallman '15 who scored to trail Alfred, 14-1 with 4:50 left in the first half. The Saxons scored one more time on a man-down situation to lead 15-1.
 
Carter Shinkaruk '16 scored his first goal of the season, unassisted, 2:19 into the third quarter to trail 15-2. Alfred found the back of the net three more times before Tessier scored his second goal of the game with one second left in regulation to trail 22-3. TJ Leach '16 was credited with the assist on the play.
 
Wyatt Katsos '17 got the start in the net and made seven saves before Cameron Prior '17 entered and tallied four saves in the loss.
 
The Purple and Gold will compete next on April 11th when the EC men host Hartwick College in an Empire 8 Conference contest at 1:00 p.m.
