Oneonta, NY -- The Elmira College women's volleyball team looked to get back in the win column this weekend and did so, as the Soaring Eagles split Empire 8 Conference matches with Nazareth College and Hartwick College. EC dropped the opening match of the day against the Golden Flyers, 3-0, before bouncing back with a 3-0 win against the Hawks.
Elmira struggled to find their groove offensively against the Golden Flyers, as the Soaring Eagles swung .121 for the match. However, the third set was a good one for Elmira, as they posted a .323 attack percentage on a 16-6-31 stat line.
Elmira's improvement in the third set seemed to carry over to the Hartwick match, as the Purple and Gold claimed a straight set win. As a team, Elmira hit .198 on a 37-17-101 stat line.
Individual Leaders (Nazareth) Individual Leaders (Hartwick)- Kelsey Ross '16 and Schieder shared the team-lead in kills with 10 apiece.
- Ray served up a match-high four aces.
- Kaznowski paced the EC offense, assisting on a match-high 27 kills.
- Blinkinsop made a match-high 12 digs.
