ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Elmira College field hockey team looked to pick up its second consecutive win this afternoon, but the Soaring Eagles hit a road block in St. John Fisher College, who secured a 9-1 win over the Purple and Gold in conference action.

Fisher scored five first-half goals, with their first tally coming just 6:36 into the contest.
Julie Hockenberger '18 made eight saves in the opening 31:40, before making way for
Tina O'Donnell '20 to close out the remainder of the contest. O'Donnell would go on to make four saves in 38:20 of action.

Elmira's lone goal of the game came at the 48:15 mark, when senior
Julia Derco '17 scored on a penalty stroke. The tally for Derco marked the second consecutive game the Hackettstown, New Jersey, native has registered a goal.

Turning Point
Fisher's offensive pressure was key in the first half of today's contest, as the Cardinals registered 23 first-half shot attempts. Of those 23 shots, 15 made their way on frame, five of which found the back of the cage.
