SELINSGROVE, P.A. -- The Elmira College men's soccer team looked to put its first tally in the win column this evening, as the Soaring Eagles traveled to face the River Hawks of Susquehanna University in a non-conference bout. Elmira played the host River Hawks to a 0-0 tie through the bulk of today's game, but three late goals in the closing 16 minutes of regulation lifted Susquehanna to a 3-0 victory, the team's first of the season.

Today's contest was tightly contested, as only three shots separated the two teams, with Susquehanna outshooting Elmira 15-to-12. However, the Soaring Eagles struggled to place their shots on target with just one of their first nine attempts making its way on frame.

Susquehanna on the other hand had a much higher conversion rate on its attempts, putting nearly half of its shots on target (7). The River Hawks' efficiency finally paid off in the 75th minute, when Alex Graul broke the stalemate with his first goal of the season. Susquehanna would go on score two additional goals over the next nine minutes to seal the 3-0 win.

Turning Point
Today's game could have gone either way, as the two teams matched each other play-for-play through 74 minutes. However, three Susquehanna goals in an 8:22 span blew today's contest wide open for the River Hawks, who went on to pick up their first win of the season by a 3-0 final.
