ELMIRA, N.Y. --
No. 4/5 Elmira College women's ice hockey puts its six-game win streak and its unblemished 10-0-0 ECAC West record on the line this weekend, as the Soaring Eagles take on Utica College in a home-and-home series. Elmira travels to face Utica tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m., before hosting the Pioneers on Sunday at the Murray Athletic Center for a 3:00 p.m. bout.

WEEKEND OVERVIEW
  • No. 4/5 Elmira will look to keep its flawless ECAC West Conference record (10-0-0) intact this weekend, as the Soaring Eagles take on Utica College in a home-and-home series.
  • Elmira is playing some of its best hockey of the season as of late. The Soaring Eagles head into the weekend with six consecutive wins, which includes a pair of shutout victories.
  • The Soaring Eagles have scored at least four goals in their last six contests, and have limited the opposition to no more than one goal in each game.
  • Saturdays' bout with the Pioneers is the first meeting between the two teams since last year's ECAC West Semifinal game - Utica bounced Elmira by a 5-1 final score in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
  • Sunday's game marks the beginning of a mini three-game homestand for Elmira.

SOARING EAGLE STREAKS
  • Shannon Strawinski '19 heads into the weekend with a career-tying five-game point streak. She has totaled seven points in that time frame on five goals and two assists
  • Strawinski's five goals during her current five-game point streak account for all but one of her season goal total (6).
  • Kristin Chivers '19 is riding a four-game point streak heading into the home-and-home series with Utica. Chivers has four points in those four games on two goals and two helpers.
  • Chivers has scored goals in back-to-back games for Elmira, accounting for two of her season's three goals.
  • Kelcey Crawford is on a four-game home win streak dating back to last season. During her four-game run, Crawford has racked up three shutout wins and has averaged 14.75 saves per game.

UTICA AT A GLANCE
  • The Pioneers are coming off of back-to-back losses to top-ranked Plattsburgh, bringing Utica's overall record to 9-7-0 and 4-5-0 in league play.
  • Of Utica's nine wins, four have taken place on its home ice at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The Pioneers are a perfect 4-0-0 at their home rink this season.
  • Road wins have been tougher to achieve for Utica. The Pioneers are 5-6-0 in true road games and 5-7-0 overall away from home.
  • Gabrielle Schnepp is the team leader in points with 14 on two goals and a team-high 12 assists.
  • Emily Coope and Meghan Power are not far behind with 13 points apiece. Coope shares the team lead in goals with Jane Pagano (6), while Power is second on the team in assists (11).
  • Jennifer Liu has had a knack for scoring big goals. Liu only has three goals on the season, all of which have gone down as game winners.
  • Keira Goin has had a solid year in net for the Pioneers. Goin is 7-5-0 on the year with a 1.31 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage, a mark that ranks second in the ECAC West.
