ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The No. 3/5 nationally-ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team opens play within the newly-formed United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) this weekend with a pair of road games against King's College (Pa.). The first of two games is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, at the Revolution Ice Centre, located in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Game two of the series is slated for the following afternoon. Both contests will begin at 3:00 p.m.

WEEKEND OVERVIEW
  • After opening the 2017-18 campaign with a 4-1 road victory versus Oswego State, the Soaring Eagles continue their season-opening road trip with a pair of games in Pittston, Pennsylvania, against first-year program King's College (Pa.)
  • The two road matchups against the Monarchs will serve as the first United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) games for both programs.
  • Saturday's 3:00 p.m. bout will serve as the first all-time meeting between the Soaring Eagles and Monarchs.
  • King's (Pa.) is one of two teams Elmira will face for the first time this season. The other is fellow UCHC member Lebanon Valley.
  • This weekend's contest are a part of seven road games through Elmira's first nine games of the 2017-18 season.
  • Including EC's season-opening win, Elmira is 36-14-2 (71.2%) in games played away from the Murray Athletic Center dating back to the 2014-15 campaign.

POINT STREAK
  • With two assists in the season-opener, Shannon Strawinski extended her point streak to six consecutive games.
  • The six-game point streak began on February 18, 2017, with an assist in EC's 3-1 win over SUNY Potsdam.
  • During her six-game stretch, Strawinski has amassed seven points (1g-6a) and one multi-point performance.

MOVING UP THE CHART
  • Last Saturday's season-opening win increase Kelcey Crawford's four-year total to 32 victories.
  • She is tied with former standout Lisa Marshall '14 for sixth place on Elmira's all-time wins list.
  • Crawford has won no fewer than eight games in each of her previous three seasons, which includes a pair of 10-win seasons.
  • If Crawford is able to produce another 10-win season, she would become just the fourth player in EC history to reach the 40-win plateau.

SCOUTING KING'S (PA.)
  • The Monarchs (0-2-0) opened their first year of collegiate ice hockey with back-to-back losses at the Alpha Ice Complex in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Neumann and Lebanon Valley.
  • This weekend's games will be King's first-ever home games at the Revolution Ice Center in Pittston, Pennsylvania.
  • Josée Aitken scored the program's first-ever goal in a 4-1 loss to Lebanon Valley. It remains as the team's lone goal of the season.
  • Freshman Kiva Sierra Stoltz has gotten the start in net in both games this year. She has totaled 83 saves with an .892 save percentage and a 4.50 goals-against average.
