ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team will look to keep its playoff hopes alive this weekend, as the Soaring Eagles host Neumann University and Manhattanville College in a pair of crucial ECAC West Conference contests. Elmira opens the weekend against Neumann on Friday, February 10th, before facing the Valiants of Manhattanville the following night at 7:00 p.m.
 
WEEKEND OVERVIEW                            

• It's crunch time around the ECAC West Conference, as the Soaring Eagles look to make a late push to qualify for one of the remaining league playoff spots.
• EC enters the weekend in seventh place in the conference standings with just three points separating Elmira from sixth-place Stevenson. Neumann is tied for fourth with Nazareth with 10 league points, while Manhattanville has already clinched a post-season berth with 16 points, good for second place.
• The two games are part of a four-game homestand for Elmira, tying the team's season-long stretch of home games.
• EC has won two consecutive home games and is 4-2-0 in its last six home contests.

 
TOP-25 FRESHMEN                  

• Connor Powell '20, Matthew Cuce '20 and Nick Ford '20 all sit inside the national top-25 in freshman scoring. 
• Powell sports a 1.14 points per game average, which has the Merrimack, New Hampshire, native tied for 12th in the country.
• Cuce's points per game average sits at 1.10 and is tied for 15th in the nation, while Ford's 0.90 ppg ranks 25th.
• Elmira is one of two teams to have three players inside the top-25 in the country in freshmen scoring (SUNY Geneseo).

• The Knights are 13-7-2 on the year with a 5-6-0 ECAC West record. Neumann enters the weekend tied for fourth place in the league standings with Nazareth with 10 conference points.
• Neumann is averaging 4.50 goals per game, a mark that ranks sixth in the country and is tops in the ECAC West.
• Jory Mullin leads the Knights with 39 points (22g, 17a) and ranks fourth in the nation in points per game (1.77). Mullin also leads the country in goals per game (1.00).
