CORTLAND, N.Y. --
The Elmira College women's volleyball team saw its four-match win streak snapped in straight sets by the Red Dragons of SUNY Cortland in a non-conference road match on Tuesday night.

The Soaring Eagles struggled mightily on the offensive side in the 25-12, 25-14, 26-16 defeat, this after a strong offensive performance over the weekend at the Oswego State Invitational. As a team, the Purple and Gold finished with a negative hitting percentage on the night.

On the other hand, Cortland attacked at a .347 clip, including a blistering .632 percent (12k-0e-19ta) in the opening set. SUNY Cortland also held a sizable 11-to-2 advantage in aces. The .347 attack percentage and 11 service aces both mark season highs given up by EC in a match this season.

Natalie Schieder '19 and Tiara John '19 led Elmira with six and five kills, respectively, but the duo combined for 15 total attacking errors against the Red Dragons. Classmate Taylor Kaznowski '19 had a solid night despite the loss, as she registered her second consecutive double-double and third overall this season. The third-year setter produced assists on 16 of EC's 19 kills, in addition to a team-high 11 digs, three kills and one ace. Junior libero Kasey Campbell '19 was second in digs with nine, followed by Schieder with seven.
