PINE VALLEY, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Nazareth College, the Empire 8 Conference's top-ranked team, on Saturday afternoon at the Murray Athletic Center.
Nazareth opened today's contest by sweeping the doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The Golden Flyers picked up a pair of 8-0 wins at No. 2 and No. 3, but faced some resistance at the top doubles position from Elmira's
Cassie Brown '21 and
Katy Jewett '21, who fell to their counterparts from Nazareth, 8-3.
Singles action was also a one-sided affair, as the Purple and Gold dropped all six matches in straight sets. With the win, Nazareth improved its unblemished Empire 8 Conference record to 7-0.
