ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Elmira College field hockey team had its three-game win streak halted on the road on Tuesday night, as the Soaring Eagles suffered an 8-0 Empire 8 Conference loss to the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College.

Naz's high-octane offense proved to be too much for the EC defense to contain, despite a career-high-tying 23-save effort from goalkeeper Tina O'Donnell '20. O'Donnell logged four stops in the first 15 minutes of action to keep the Golden Flyers grounded before Alexandra Livesey caged Naz's first goal in the 16th minute. The Kutztown, Pennsylvania, native made 14 of her saves in the second half, reaching the 20-plus plateau for the third time this year.

Trailing 4-0 early in the second half, Elmira applied some pressure on the Nazareth defense with a trio of shots in a span of two-and-a-half minutes. Kelsie Aloi '21 and Janie Kempf '21 each had shots saved by Naz goalie Kimber Nourse in the 38th and 40th minutes, respectively. Following a penalty corner in the 41st minute, Emily Selbert '20 saw her attempt sail wide of the goal. Holly Karalus '21 had another good look at the cage in the 50th minute; however, her shot off of the corner entry was blocked by Leah Good, who was credited with a defensive save on the goal line.
