ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A flurry of first-half offense by the Cardinals was the difference this afternoon, as the Elmira College field hockey team fell by a 5-0 final score to St. John Fisher College at Growney Stadium.

St. John Fisher held a 28-5 advantage in shots, including an 18-1 lead in shots on goal, as well as a 10-4 edge in penalty corner opportunities.

Tina O'Donnell '20 continued to perform at a high level in the cage, as the third-year netminder turned away 11 shots in a full 70 minutes of action. Additionally, first-year defender
Kristen Tull '22 logged a pair of defensive saves, bringing her season total to three.

Bre Socker began today's scoring with a tally just 46 seconds into regulation, the first of four first-half goals for the Cardinals. Lauren Fazio scored twice, once at 7:06 and the other with just 47 seconds left in the first half. Reghan Amoroso added Fisher's other first half goal, one that was registered at the 20:17 mark. Rounding out the goal scorers was Gianna Palma, who found the back of the cage at the 37:33 mark.

EC's lone shot on goal came from the stick of
Janie Kempf '21 in the 59th minute. However, her attempt was snuffed out by Fisher's Ashley Maynard, who was credited with the win.Â
