REISTERSTOWN, MD. -- The No.1/2 –ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey wrapped up the regular season in fine fashion on Saturday afternoon, as the Soaring Eagles picked up a 5-1 victory over United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) foe Stevenson University at the Reisterstown Sportsplex.
With the win, the Purple and Gold ended the regular season with a perfect 18-0-0 mark in UCHC play. EC was downright dominant on the puck against the Mustangs, sending 74 shots on target, while Stevenson mustered just 15 shots. Sophomore netminder
Elizabeth Hanson '21 got the start in goal and turned away all but one shot, picking up the win with 14 saves.
Six different skaters recorded points for the Purple and Gold, headlined by rookie

Katie Granato '19 (1g-1a),
Maddy Jerolman '19 (1g-1a) and
Kiana Melvin '20 (2a) all posted two points.
Emma Crocker '21 (1g) and
Maddie Evangelous '19 (1g) each added a goal to fill out EC's scoresheet. Chatham's lone tally of the night came via Kellen Wittman and Cierra Siemasko.
Elmira set the tone from the jump, as Jerolman found the back of the net one minute into the contest. Beaudin and Jerolman combined to push EC ahead 2-0 just four minutes later, as Beaudin potted the eventual game-winning goal.
The game quieted down from there until the start of the second period, as Granato forced a turnover and beat Stevenson's Caitie Darosa for a shorthanded strike. Stevenson cut Elmira's lead to 3-1 with just over one minute to play in the second stanza, as Wittmann was able to beat Hanson.
A pair of goals in the third period officially put the game out of reach, as Crocker and Evangelous gave the game its final 5-1 score line.
In his own words...
Head Coach
Tim Crowley on the team's final performance of the regular season...
"We made some adjustments heading into today's game after last night. Stevenson was doing a great job getting into the shooting lanes, so we wanted to be quicker with our decision-making. Nothing changes for us moving forward. We want to continue to play system-strong and continue moving toward our goals."
