Cheerleading Earns Fourth Place Finish at 2019 NCA College Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fl.
 -- The Elmira College cheerleading team earned a top-four finish at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals for the sixth consecutive season on Friday afternoon, as the Soaring Eagles posted a combined score of 94.87 to finish fourth overall in the All-Girl Division III bracket.

The Soaring Eagles posted an identical raw score to their preliminary round showing with a 95.43. Elmira scored better over in the finals however as the Purple and Gold hit all of their stunts during their routine on the Band Shell. EC received just 0.25-points of deductions from the judges to earn a 95.18.

Despite improving in the final round, the Purple and Gold were unable to climb up the leaderboard, as they finished with a two-day score of 94.87. Montclair State managed to maintain its slim lead over the Soaring Eagles to finish third with a cumulative score of 95.12.

Last year's national champion, Alma College, earned a second-place finish after posting a two-day score of 95.71. Bridgewater State University claimed the top-spot with an overall score of 96.79.
