WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- A total of 14 skaters logged points for the Purple and Gold in Monday afternoon's United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) matchup, as the No. 5-ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team rolled over Wilkes University, 8-0. The Soaring Eagles (17-4-2, 12-2-0 UCHC) moved into a three-way tie for first place in the UCHC North standings with Nazareth and William Smith with 24 league points, while Wilkes' record dropped to 4-16-1 (3-11-1 UCHC).

Of Elmira's 14 point-getters, seven were multi-point producers. Headlining the group were
Tristen Tolan '21 and
Jess Adams '21, who both amassed three points. All three of Tolan's points came in the first period, as she scored the game-winning goal and assisted on two other EC tallies. Adams, on the other hand, was credited with a trio of assists in the second stanza.

Brooke McArdle '22, and
Emma Edgington '23 all finished with two points apiece. Crocker, Millins, and Haviland each produced two goals, with Crocker and Haviland connecting on the power play one time each. McArdle recorded one power-play goal and one assist, while Edgington was credited with a pair of assists.

Elizabeth Hanson '21 made her 12th start of the season and amassed 13 saves in a winning effort. Six of her 13 saves were registered in the third period, as the junior netminder improved to 10-2-1 on the year.

Elmira overwhelmed Wilkes with a barrage of shots throughout the game, starting with a 20-3 advantage in the opening period. The Soaring Eagles found the back of the cage five times in the opening 20 minutes, starting with an even-strength tally from Tolan at the 3:24 mark. Tolan's goal went down as today's game-winner, her first of the 2019-20 season.

Crocker added a power-play tally at 5:11, before Millins potted back-to-back goals at 8:05 and 12:54. Crocker rounded out the first-period scoring with an even-strength goal, her team-leading 16th tally of the season, at the 16:50 mark.

Elmira's final three goals of the game were all registered in the second stanza, two of which were scored on the power play. Haviland netted two of the three goals, scoring once at 2:27 and then again on the power play at 18:31. McArdle also potted a power-play goal at the 5:20 mark. The three second-period tallies were all EC needed, as the Purple and Gold marched away with an eight-goal victory.
