PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – The Elmira College Women's Ice Hockey team skated to a 10-0 win over the visiting Herons from William Smith College on Saturday afternoon. After defeating William Smith 3-2 in overtime just a day ago, the Soaring Eagles used a four goal and one assist outing from
Eliza Beaudin '22, as well as five assists and a goal from
Morgan Mordini '22 in the win. With the victory, head coach
Tim Crowley became the all-time wins leader in program history (103), passing Paul Nemetz-Carlson for the most all time.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The scoring got started at the 7:21 mark in the first period as Beaudin scored her first of the afternoon on an assist from Mordini. Just two and a half minutes later, the Soaring Eagles found themselves shorthanded after
Jenna Ellis '24 went to the penalty box on a hooking call. Despite skating a player down, Mordini found the back of the net with 10:01 remaining in the opening period on assists from Beaudin &
Sydney Harris '21.
The Soaring Eagles carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission and would go for six in the second period. In the first ten minutes of the second period, the Soaring Eagles would see goals from
Kelly Millins '23 (4:13),
Jenny Heath '22 (6:28), and a pair from Beaudin (6:28 & 9:26).
In the remainder of the second period, EC would increase their lead to seven, then eight, on goals from
Claire Meeder '23 (12:59), and yet again from Beaudin (13:10). In total, the Soaring Eagles would put up 15 shots in the period, converting on six for a 40% shot-to-goal rate.
In the third,
Claire Elfring '25 would score her second goal of the season on an assist from
Holley Riva '23 just under four minutes into the period. Riva would then be assisted by
Erika Goleniak '25 and Heath to cap the scoring with just over two minutes remaining to give EC a 10-0 win.
