EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. – The Elmira College women's wrestling program competed at the ESU Warriors Invitational on Sunday as
Skylah Chakouian '25 recorded a third-place finish and
Maylin Reyes '25 notched a sixth-place finish for the Soaring Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Purple & Gold had three wrestlers compete at 155 pounds as Chakouian responded with four straight victories after dropping her second bout against Taylor Hites from Tiffin. She would battle through the consolation bracket and eventually made her way to the third-place match.
Facing Megan Vondrasek from Adrian, Chakouian notched a 16-5 victory after outlasting her opponent through regulation time.
Reyes opened with a pair of wins for Elmira at 123 pounds, including a pin of Renee Richter from Adrian to advance in the winner's bracket. Reyes dropped to the consolation bracket after falling against Stephanie Mondragon from Tiffin. She would have a shot in the fifth-place bout before being pinned to secure sixth.
Williams notched a pair of pins for the Soaring Eagles while competing at 143 pounds. She won consecutive bouts before falling in a consolation matchup against Sidney Ramos from Tiffin.
Dahlquist recorded a win while wrestling at 170 pounds after receiving a bye to open the tournament. She notched a 12-0 victory against Nyere Grant from Tiffin before dropping a 12-2 decision against Annabelle Helm from Gannon.
UP NEXT:
Elmira returns to the mat to host its inaugural home dual match on Tuesday, November 9 against Brewton-Parker. The Soaring Eagles will battle the Barons inside Speidel Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
