HOW IT HAPPENED:
Looking to get back into the win column, the Soaring Eagles would take a 1-0 lead late in the first period against Adrian. Madi Morton '24 connected with a power-play goal at the 18:46 mark of the frame as Mary McCafferty '22 and Mordini would be credited with the assists.

Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the first intermission, the Soaring Eagles needed 13 saves in net from Leonie-Louise Kuehberger '25. Adrian netminder Sophie Goldberg stopped three of the four shots that she faced.

Adrian capitalized early in the second period to knot the score 1-1 as Elmira would be called for a penalty less than a minute into the frame. Jocelin Hudanish found the back of the net at the 1:30 mark for the Bulldogs to pull her team even.

The Soaring Eagles would eventually regain the lead as Mordini beat the Adrian goalkeeper at the 10:19 mark to make it 2-1. Eliza Beaudin '22 would be responsible for setting up the goal as Elmira took the advantage into the third period.

The Bulldogs made the most of another power-play opportunity in the third period as Karmen Anderson beat Kuehberger to tie the game 2-2 at the 5:16 mark. Elmira turned up the pressure offensively as the frame moved along, but would be unable to beat Goldberg, who registered 16 saves.

Skating 3-on-3 in the five-minute overtime period both sides had good chances for a game-winning goal but would come up empty. The Soaring Eagles had a rush late in the frame with no defenders back for the Bulldogs but would be denied by Goldberg. Elmira closed the contest by killing off a late 4-on-3 opportunity for Adrian.
