HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Eagles' defense swarmed the Broncos throughout the match, leaving the visitors scoreless on the day. The first half also saw the Eagles held scoreless, despite four shots sent at Delhi keeper Johnathan Walch.

EC entered the second half hot, finding the back of the net early off the foot of Mark Brado Jr. '22 at the 50-minute mark. Brado scored the opener after Moustapha Camara '23 fired a shot at Walch, which deflected back to Brado, using the opportunity to bury the ball in the back of the net and give Elmira a 1-0 lead. Elmira would never lose the lead after their first goal.

The Purple & Gold continued their early momentum to quickly find the net once again in the 58th minute as Camara found Lutho Mlunguza '23 who put the home squad up by a pair.

After fifteen minutes of a tough defensive battle, Elmira would score once again, for the final goal of the game in the 74th minute. After being awarded a free kick near the midfield line, Gavin Wise '22 found the back of the net off the shot to give the Soaring Eagles a commanding 3-0 lead, one that they would hold for the rest of the game.

The Elmira keepers, Giovanni Garufi '22 and Zachary Raffino '23, combined for a total of three saves, earning a shutout on the day.
