ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Men's Basketball Team dropped an 82-74 decision against the visiting Express from Wells College on Tuesday evening at home. After battling and trailing by five points at halftime, the Soaring Eagles and Express went toe-to-toe in the second half before Elmira was forced to foul down the stretch.
Bryan Adams '25 paced the way for the Purple & Gold with 25 points, including an 11-of-12 effort from the free throw line, while freshman
JJ Babcock '26 chipped in ten points and three rebounds in just his second collegiate game.
Terrance Clayton-Murphy would be the difference for the Express, pouring in 32 points which included an 8-of-14 from deep range.
In the game, the Soaring Eagles outscored the Express 33-10 off the bench, which included ten from Babcock and nine points from
Owen Evans '26 who converted on three shots from long range.
Neither team was able to hold a competitive advantage on points in the paint, as Wells narrowly edged Elmira 28-24 along with 2
nd chance points, 15-14.
