HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Soaring Eagles would jump right into things offensively in the opening frame as Heath notched a total of four shots before eventually finding the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Heath would let a slapshot loose from the left point that worked its way through traffic to find the back of the net and give the Purple & Gold a 1-0 lead at the 19:36 mark. Claire Elfring '25 and Erika Goleniak '25 would both be credited with the assists on Heath's marker.

Elmira would make a change between the pipes to start the second period as Leonie-Louise Kuehberger '25 exited the contest after stopping a pair of shots in the first period. Alayna Breivogel '25 would take over for Kuehberger to start the second period and would finish the contest in net for Elmira.

Plymouth State would look to generate some offensive opportunities in the second period as the Panthers tallied five shots on goal. Breivogel would deny each of the Panthers' chances in the frame to help keep the Soaring Eagles in front on the scoreboard. Elmira put 13 shots on frame but would be unable to find the back of the net to add to its advantage through 40 minutes of action.

Morgan Mordini '22 would add a late insurance goal for Elmira at the 18:35 mark of the third period to make it 2-0 in favor of the Purple & Gold. Mordini's sixth goal of the season would be unassisted for the Soaring Eagles. There were just two penalties called in the contest as both sides went 0-for-1 with the extra skater.

Kuehberger improved to 7-2 on the season between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles, while Breivogel turned away seven shots through 40 minutes of action for Elmira in the second and third periods. Heath paced Elmira with six shots on goal in the contest, while Elfring won 11 faceoffs in the circle for the Soaring Eagles.
