CORNING, N.Y. – Behind the strength of a five-run bottom of the sixth inning, the Elmira College baseball program completed a come-from-behind victory against Keuka on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Corning Community College.
After winning game one, 8-7, the second game between Elmira and Keuka was suspended due to darkness with the score tied 8-8 entering the top of the 13th inning. The contest will be completed on Monday afternoon.

KEY MOMENT:
Joe Morrone '22 and
Jared Money '22 delivered run-scoring singles to tie the game 2-2 in the fourth inning.
Elmira scored on consecutive run-scoring groundouts to open the five-run sixth inning.
Jared Signorelli '23 delivered a double that plated the eventual game-winning runs for EC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Keuka opened the scoring on the day and would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning before adding to its advantage with another run in the third inning to make it 2-0.
The Soaring Eagles would get things going offensively in the bottom of the fourth inning as
Brett Warden '25 delivered a single to left field. With a pair of runners on base, Morrone laced a single into center field that allowed Warden to score and make it 2-1. A single from Money through the left side allowed Signorelli to score and even things 2-2.
Elmira rallied to take a 3-2 advantage in the bottom of the fifth inning as
Colin McLaughlin '22 scored from third off of a throwing error by Keuka's catcher. The Soaring Eagles would strand
Matteo Salvati '25 on third as Signorelli grounded out to end the frame.
The Wolves would knock Elmira starter
Angus Adams '22 out of the contest in the top of the sixth inning after taking a 4-3 lead following a run-scoring single.
Carter Wisely '25 would be tasked with getting out of the frame as Keuka rallied to three more runs to take a 7-3 lead to the bottom of the sixth inning.
Following a pair of run-scoring groundouts in the bottom of the sixth inning to trim the deficit to 7-5, McLaughlin singled to score
Mason Ryan '22 and make it 7-6. Signorelli followed two batters later with the bases loaded and would deliver a ground-rule double to score McLaughlin and Salvati to give the Soaring Eagles an 8-7 lead.
David Kruis '23 would enter out of the bullpen to close the game for Elmira in the top of the seventh inning. Kruis would work around a leadoff walk and two-out single to get a strikeout and notch his second save of the season for the Purple & Gold. The save for Kruis was the third of his career and sets the program record for career saves at Elmira.
STATS:
Adams earned the no-decision for Elmira after working five innings, while Wisely notched his first collegiate victory for the Soaring Eagles.
Morrone, Ryan, and Warden each finished the contest with two hits for the Soaring Eagles.

The Soaring Eagles will complete their suspended game against the Wolves on Monday, April 4 at Noon before playing a doubleheader against Keuka at Finger Lakes Community College at 1:00 p.m.
