KEY MOMENT:
Jared Money '22 and Jarod Signorelli '23 delivered back-to-back run-scoring singles in the top of the fifth inning for the Soaring Eagles.

Mason Ryan '22 doubled in the top of the eighth inning to record his 100th career hit, becoming just the seventh player in program history to do so.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
St. John Fisher jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning against Elmira starter Carter Wisely '25 as the Cardinals tallied five hits in the frame. The Cardinals extended their lead by scoring three more runs in the bottom of the second inning.

The Soaring Eagles would break into both the hit and run columns in the top of the fifth inning as Jourdan Plaisted '21 opened the frame with a single to right field. With two outs and a runner on base, Luke Frontale '22 doubled to right field to put a pair of runners in scoring position for the Purple & Gold.

Money would plate the first run of the contest for Elmira with a single back up the middle that allowed Brett Warden '25 to score. Signorelli followed in the next at-bat with a single to left field that allowed Frontale to score and make it 10-2. The Soaring Eagles would strand the bases loaded following a groundout to first off the bat of Ryan.

Elmira looked to rally in the top of the eighth inning as Colin McLaughlin '22 singled to left field to put a runner on with one out before Ryan sent a double down the left-field line to put both in scoring position. The Cardinals would thwart any rally by the Soaring Eagles with a strikeout and fly out to center field to end the inning.

STATS:
Justin Hyde '25 worked a pair of innings out of the bullpen for the Soaring Eagles and scattered one run off of five hits while walking one batter and fanning one.

Ryan joined the 100-hit club for the Soaring Eagles and became the first player since Tommy Fogarty during the 2020 season to hit the century mark.

Ryan achieved the milestone while appearing in his 105th career game for the Purple & Gold, a number that ranks sixth all-time in program history for games played.
