HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Warriors would strike quickly as Hannah Wood found the back of the net for Lycoming at the 1:49 mark to make it 1-0. Elmira looked to answer in the eighth minute of action as
Piper Andrews '26 took a low shot that would be stopped by the Warriors.
Rachel Bortnick '25 would get the next offensive look for the Purple & Gold as her attempt at the 24:15 mark would be denied as she tried to beat the keeper to the left side of the net. EC's
Lauren Foster '23 followed with a look on net in the 36
th minute as her attempt to the right side of the cage would be stopped to keep the score 1-0.
Lycoming would add to its advantage in the second half with a tally in the 72
nd minute as a shot to the bottom left would beat Winston to make it 2-0. Elmira would get a corner kick as it looked to trim the deficit but would be unable to convert against the Warriors' defense.
Andrews, Bortnick, and Foster each finished the contest with a shot on goal for the Soaring Eagles, while Winston finished with five saves in goal for EC. Lycoming held an 18-3 advantage in shots as well as a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
