Brett Warden Named to Division III Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Spotlight List

TUCSON, Ariz. – Collegiate Baseball Newspaper released its spotlighted NCAA Division III Baseball players heading into the 2023 season on January 6, with reigning Empire 8 Rookie of the Year and Third Basemen Brett Warden '25 cracking the list of third basemen to watch. The full January 6 edition can be purchased here

The list, which featured 28 third basemen from across the country, included Warden and other Empire 8 representative, Josh Tryon from Keuka College.

In his rookie season, Warden, a native of Yorktown Heights, New York, was an iron man as he started all 38 games for the Soaring Eagles. Warden was selected as the E8 Rookie of the Week three times during the season and paced in the Purple & Gold in several offensive and defensive categories. In 2022, he finished the season with a .315 batting average to go along with 40 hits, 11 doubles, four triples, 10 stolen bases, and 20 runs batted in.

Warden's 38 games played this season were the third-most by any player in a single season for the Purple & Gold, while his four triples were tied for the most in a season and rank fourth all-time in program history. He also matched the single-season mark for hit-by-pitches (11), while ranking sixth in slugging percentage (.488), and eighth in on-base percentage (.431).
