BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's basketball program erased a three-point deficit at halftime and rallied to tie the contest in the final seconds of the second half before dropping a 75-73 decision in overtime on Tuesday night in an Empire 8 matchup against Medaille inside the Kevin I. Sullivan Center.
Bryan Adams '25, 
Tyler Cardello '26, and 
Quintel Clements '22 each recorded double-digit offensive performances in the contest for Elmira as Adams finished with a game-high 19 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The extra 5-minute session would see Medaille take a 67-66 advantage following a made free-throw before Adams would make his own trip to the charity stripe for the Soaring Eagles. Adams connected on both shots to give EC a 68-67 lead before the Mavericks drained a 3-pointer to go up 70-68 with 3:10 left to play.
Trailing 72-68 with less than a minute left to play, Adams would finish a layup as he was fouled to trim the deficit to 72-70 before cutting the gap to a single point. Adams hit a layup with four seconds remaining to make it 75-73 and would take a shot as the buzzer sounded following a Medaille turnover only to see it not drop for Elmira.
Medaille controlled the contest early in the first half as the Mavericks would by as many as nine points with just under 14 minutes on the clock. Cardello would start a rally for the Soaring Eagles after making a pair of free throws at the 13:34 mark to trim the deficit to 18-11. Clements would cap the run for EC with a layup at the 10:05 mark that pulled the Purple & Gold within a point of the Mavericks. Cardello tallied the final four points of the half for Elmira as the Soaring Eagles would trail 35-32 at the break.
Elmira would build a 45-41 lead in the second half following a 3-pointer from 
Brijon Warren '24 and a made free throw from 
Owen Evans '26. Elmira would hold its lead until Medaille rallied to knot the score 51-51 following a layup at the 8:45 mark. The Mavericks would use the momentum to retake the lead and led by as many as four points down the stretch. Adams went 4-of-4 at the charity stripe in the final 30 seconds of the contest to knot the score 66-66 as Medaille missed a 3-point heave at the buzzer.
In 26 minutes of action off the bench for the Soaring Eagles, Cardello finished 7-of-11 from the field along with a career-high 11 rebounds. Clements was perfect from the field as he finished 6-of-6 from the field and 4-of-4 at the free-throw line, while Adams made 8-of-9 free-throws and notched three steals to go along with his 19 points.
