Chakouian and Edwards Record Individual Victories as No. 21 Women’s Wrestling Falls at No. 8 Lock Haven, 35-12

LOCK HAVEN, PA. – Megan Edwards '27 and Skylah Chakouian '25 recorded victories via pin for the No. 21 Elmira College women's wrestling program, as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 35-12 decision on Thursday evening against eighth-ranked Lock Haven University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Bald Eagles opened the dual with a pair of victories via pin at 101 pounds and 109 pounds to take a 10-0 advantage over the Soaring Eagles.
Making her season debut for the Soaring Eagles at 116 pounds, Abby Duke '26 would drop a tightly contested 8-4 decision to record the first team point of the match for Elmira. Duke battled to tally four points late in the first period to knot the score 4-4 before surrendering four points in the second period.
Megan Edwards '27 would square off in a rematch from the Adrian Open against Mackenzie DelVecchio at 123 pounds. Edwards notched the first victory of the night for the Soaring Eagles with a pin against DelVecchio at the 2:00 mark to record her sixth such win of the season.
Gabby Bradigan '26 earned a team point for Elmira at 130 pounds after dropping a 10-2 decision against Lily Sherer.
In the lone nationally ranked bout of the night, No. 3 Grace Stem recorded another victory via tech fall against No. 10 Zoey Lints '27 after Lints matched up against Stem at the Adrian Open earlier this month.
Skylah Chakouian '25 recorded the second pin of the night for the Soaring Eagles as she needed just 1:39 to secure the victory at 155 pounds over Paige Jackson. The pin was the seventh of the season for Chakouian, who notched her 55^th career victory and 26^th dual victory for the Purple & Gold.

UP NEXT: The Soaring Eagles are back in action on Sunday with a trip to East Stroudsburg University for the NCWWC Northeast Regional Duals. Elmira is slated to face three nationally ranked programs in No. 5 Sacred Heart, No. 9 New Jersey City, and No. 10 East Stroudsburg.
