ERIE, PA. – The Elmira College Cheer program traveled to Gannon University on Saturday for its final competition before turning its attention to the 2023 NCA College Nationals, which will be held in the coming weeks in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In the Dance portion of the Road to Daytona Showcase, the Soaring Eagles would bring home the first-place trophy following their routine in the Contemporary division with a score of 58.60. Elmira also placed second in the Hip-Hop division with a score of 59.05. Gannon University claimed the first-place trophy in Hip-Hop with a total score of 62.10.

In the Cheer portion of the competition, the Soaring Eagles and Golden Knights battled once again for the Small Coed Advanced division trophy. The Golden Knights would be victorious this time around as Gannon received a score of 78.65, while Elmira was given a score of 75.65 to place second in the Small Coed Advanced division.

The Soaring Eagles will showcase their routine for the 2023 NCA College Nationals inside Speidel Gymnasium on Monday, April 3 at 4:30 P.M. Elmira will also be holding its Code Purple event, while honoring five graduating members from the program. There will also be a Hip-Hop performance and senior recognition for the EC Danceline program.
