COLLEGEVILLE, PA. – The Elmira College men's wrestling program finished 15th out of 17 programs on Saturday at the Will Abele Invitational on the campus of Ursinus College as Darius Green '24 finished third at 285 pounds for the Soaring Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Green opened his day with a bout against Rocco Arduini from Keystone and would deliver a victory via pin in 2:24 to advance in the championship bracket. He notched another pin in just 58 seconds to secure his spot in the semifinals over Melipone Aisea from Southern Virginia.
• A rematch from earlier in the season against Layton Schmick from East Stroudsburg would see Schmick record a 12-3 major decision victory against Green to send him to the third-place match. In that bout, Green would need only 49 seconds to pin Kennith Jackson III from Oneonta to secure the top-three finish.
• Hollis Berry '25 competed at 157 pounds for the Purple & Gold and opened his tournament with an 8-1 decision against Josh Sam from RIT. Berry would drop to the consolation bracket following his next bout after dropping a 13-9 decision.
• Berry would keep his tournament run alive in the consolation bracket with a 14-2 major decision victory over Gabe Heaney from Ursinus and would advance to a bout against CJ Shea from Wesleyan. In that bout, Shea would notch a 16-5 major decision victory to end the tournament for Berry.
