JAMESTOWN, N.Y. –
Darius Green '24 advanced to the championship match at 285 pounds and
Hollis Berry '25 battled his way to the third-place match at 157 pounds as the Elmira College men's wrestling program competed at the Jamestown CC Open on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Green would open his run to the title bout with a pair of pins in the championship first round followed by the quarterfinals. A pin against Roy Gamble from Alfred State sent Green to the quarterfinals, where he would face Joe Shoup from Ohio Wesleyan.
- Green would need just 13 seconds to pin Shoup and advance to the semifinals of the heavyweight division. A 19-3 tech fall victory for Green against Gavin Thompson from Pitt-Bradford would set up a championship bout against Eli Reese from Gannon. Green would take Reese almost to the six-minute mark of the bout before Reese would secure the pin in the title match.
- The tournament run for Berry would open with a 17-1 tech fall victory in the championship first round over Alex Boukheir from Ohio Wesleyan. Another tech fall victory would follow for Berry as he posted a 19-4 score against Quinn Brown from Niagara CC.
- Berry would fall in his semifinal bout via a 4-0 decision against Renso Montalvo from Niagara CC as he would move to the consolation bracket at 157 pounds. The consolation semifinals matched Berry against Luke Milanovich from Ohio Wesleyan as Berry notched a pin at the 5:50 mark of the bout. A pin at the 4:58 mark against Kace Cook from Niagara CC secured a third-place finish for Green.
- Bryan Stafford '26 advanced to the semifinal match at 174 pounds for the Soaring Eagles before seeing his tournament run come to an end in the consolation semifinals. Stafford opened the day with a 19-3 tech fall victory against Alex Cole from Penn State Behrend.
- Stafford moved to the quarterfinals and would deliver a pin at the 1:49 mark against Connor Hughes from Garrett College. A loss via a 13-4 major decision to John Koroma from Lackawanna College moved Stafford to the consolation bracket. In the consolation semifinals, Stafford would be pinned by Soren Wynn and come up just short of reaching the podium.
- At 141 pounds, Selvin Maldonado '25 dropped his opening bout of the tournament before notching consecutive victories in the consolation bracket. Maldonado used a 21-6 tech fall victory to advance to the consolation second round, where he recorded an 11-7 decision to keep his podium hopes alive. An 18-1 tech fall decision in favor of Parker Loera from Gannon in the consolation third round would end the tournament for Maldonado.
