ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's soccer program welcomed the Hartwick College Hawks to Campus Field on Wednesday for an Empire 8 Conference matchup as the Soaring Eagles would get a goal from
Bella Thomas '28 in the second half to secure a 1-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Elmira goalkeeper Nevaeh Winston '25 recorded four saves on four shots in the opening half of action for the Purple & Gold. Winston was tested first in the eighth minute before turning away a pair of Hartwick scoring opportunities in the 15th and 19 minutes.
- The Hawks took five corner kicks in the second half, including back-to-back opportunities in the 60th minute, as the Soaring Eagles denied both scoring looks for Hartwick.
- Bella Thomas '28 would give the Soaring Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute after taking a pass in the box from Mo McBride '27 and beating the Hartwick goalkeeper. Stefanie Hilty '27 was also credited with an assist on Thomas' goal after setting up the play for EC at the top of the box.
- The Soaring Eagles registered three shots on target in the second half as Tierney Krawczyk '27 and Faith Ingber '26 also had scoring attempts turned away by the Hartwick goalkeeper.
- In goal for the Soaring Eagles, Winston stopped all four shots she faced to notch her third shutout and third win of the season.
